Week in the Life- Saturday

*I documented the last week of July as a week in our life in photos, and am finishing up with posting the results.*

On Saturday morning, Chinua felt well enough to come out for breakfast.

One of our traveling philosophies has become "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," so we headed back to the same nearby restaurant.

Yellow house.

Every got their vitamins. We call it Fizzy Bubbly. The kids think that's what it's really called. Yes, they are some sort of imported German vitamin.

Ahhh. Coffee and knitting. It is near perfection for me.

I would like to introduce you to what I call the Labor of Love. This is a sweater I promised my mother many years (!) ago. I finished the entire back one time, only to discover that I had made a mistake in needle sizing. I started over, but knitting has slowed for me in the tropics. However, I have finished the back again, and am about to start on one of the sides.

After breakfast I went out to find myself a new camera case.

Later, for lunch, we had peanut butter and honey sandwiches, mangos, bananas, and pomegranates. Guesthouse bed picnic.

To get the kids out of the house, we decided to go to Swayambunath, the monkey temple. But Leafy developed a fever, and I ended up staying home with him.

Chinua took these photos. To get to the Monkey Temple, you must climb many stairs.

And at the top, you will find the monkeys.

This one apparently gave Solo a warning rap on the head when he felt Solo was getting too close to his crackers. I can only imagine Solo's indignance. "I didn't want your old crackers, dude."

They do love monkeys.

A view of the city.

When the family got back, it was clear that Chinua had overdone it. He headed back to bed, and later the kids and I went back to the Yellow House for dinner.

Kid A has been wanting to learn how to play Carrom, the most popular game in Nepal. This kind waiter showed him how, and the cooks took turns playing with Kid A.

Blurry, but I love the expression on his face.

Saturday recap: Labor of Love, peanut butter picnic, monkey knuckles, and Carrom with cooks.

The last post- Sunday flying to Delhi, is coming up!
